Plant Biodiversity in the KBA

The research being done under this topic will be compiled in our first resource book on Plants of this Key Biodiversity Area of Barbados.

Students from the University of the West Indies enjoyed learning about the link between biocultural traditions and the biodiversity existing along the Scotland District, St. Andrew.

They discovered that Anodyne/Mahoe (Thespesia populnea) was used for the management of hypertension, that the flower is edible and also that it is a member of the Hibiscus family.
